Restoration Prices Per Photo

Photo Restoration and photo repairs involves digitally editing a copy of an old photo that has been torn, creased or otherwise damaged. Faded photos can also be restored, bringing back the original colours and removing colour casts or light damage. Just one word of caution, although we can enhance and improve photos in many ways, there is no replacement for good original photo quality. If the original is out of focus there are limits to how much it can be sharpened. Sharpening methods can make a picture look better but not always perfect and over sharpening can make a picture look much worse. Don't be put off sending snapshots that were not great originals but try not to expect a perfect photo. See the photos opposite, the originals vary from being family snapshots to portraits probably taken by professionals. This is minor because most of the damage is away from the main subject, if the torn area was on the subject then it is more difficult to restore and therefore would be moderate or major restoration depending on the amount of damage. This is an example of major restoration of a photograph where the original had undergone double exposure at the time of shooting. While it is not possible to make it perfect, if it is the only photo you have of a precious loved one I think you will find the before and after shots quite different, it printed better than it looks on screen.
