Dawn has been interested in photography since buying an SLR camera back in 1981 when living in London. I used to take the camera out at the weekends and take pictures around the East End of London. There was a porter at the hospital where I worked who was also into photography and we used to chat into the early hours, sharing techniques. He knew a lot more about photography than me at the time as I was just starting out.
Photography has always been a hobby and I am passionate about it. Learning to take good photos is an art and although some are naturally gifted, it is an art form that can be learned. I completed a City and Guilds Photography Course in Reading.
Digital imaging has rapidly developed over the past few years and there is so much that can be done to bring peoples' memories back to life and that is where the idea for this website came about. Photo restoration gives me a lot of satisfaction and that is why I do it. The aim of this website is to help people to remember things that are important to them and to encourage them in their photography endeavours.
One of the things I am working on now is e learning packs and books to teach people how to take decent photos and how to use digital editing techniques for themselves. There are books out there and if you want to browse a few click here. I use Photoshop for my editing and so am very happy to recommend the software but that doesn't mean there aren't other good photo editing packages. |
